Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Tamil Nadu is organising the 18th Edition of CONNECT 2019 on 7-8 November 2019   at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai.

CII has been organizing CONNECT in Chennai since 2001. Over the years, Connect has become an intellectual and impactful platform which brings together Technologists, Industry Leaders, Academicians, Infrastructure providers, thought leaders and Start-ups.

The Connect series has been the forum for Indian ICT Industry to confer on latest trends & developments. This premier annual Conference and Exhibition on Information and Communication Technology has been focusing on the Tamil Nadu’s growth in ICT Sector.  The idea behind this initiative is to make Tamil Nadu State, one of the potential States in India for investment in the ICT Sector, at that time, when India was emerging as a global hub for generating IT manpower to cater the requirement of various advanced countries in the world. This event is jointly organised by CII along with Government of Tamil Nadu and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI).

Overview

With India striving to be a $5 Trillion economy, India need to capitalize more heavily around developing disruptive business models, use digital technologies to create and deliver value to the customer in an integrated, innovative blend. Journey toward the $5 trillion economy would be fueled by a combination of Smart Manufacturing (Industry 4.0), Connected Transportation and Logistics, Smart & Secure cities, Adaptive education, Cashless transactions and Intelligent Integrated Healthcare and Innovative Governance etc.

Keeping the above, CII Tamil Nadu is organising the 18th Edition of CONNECT 2019 with the theme “Technology @ the Heart of India’s $5 Trillion Economy”  on 7-8 November 2019 at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai.

How to move towards Cashless Transaction and Drive financial inclusion

Given the vision of Digital India is aimed at transforming the country into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy that would catapult India towards being a $ 5tn economy.

The session would strive to identify issues and discuss opportunities for banking institutions and how technology can be leveraged to aid financial inclusion and scale. The session would be focusing on with financial inclusion, as many as 300 million Indians could gain access to banking services and raise their incomes by 5 to 30 percent thanks to better access to credit and the ability to save and make remittances. Other benefits could be improved – productivity and higher incomes for citizens using financial services and from lower costs and reduced leakage in government transfers and payments; Challenges in dataprivacy and cyber security Industries, Companies, Startups that are into the area.

Future of Jobs & Skills

Given the vision of Digital India is aimed at transforming the country into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy that would catapult India towards being a $ 5tn economy.

In today’s age of big data analytics, machine and deep learning, machines are increasingly taking jobs of humans. With technology changing so fast, no one knows where jobs of the future are going to emerge from and what they will look like. This panel can discuss the supporting ecosystem required in the future economy, to augment “Innovation”, “Job Creation”, Changes in Skilling required, the role of universities and research institutions; and appropriate government policies. Detail out a roadmap that can be planned for the future by the Government, and Industry, and what should the policymakers, seeking to secure economic growth in the decades to come, protect and extend our innovative environment.

Human Machine Interface – New classes of jobs that need human interface with machines will come into existence. Focus on how humans would interact with technology and make people comfortable with these new technologies. Need to train people from an early age on such technologies.

5000 Start up in Tamil Nadu by 2025
